NTDP Announces 2016-17 U.S. National U17 Team Roster

PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Twelve forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders were recently selected to join USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program for the 2016-17 season it was announced today. The players, all from the 2000 birth year, will compete as members of the U.S. National Under-17 Team.

Goaltenders

Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) played between the pipes for St. Cloud Cathedral High School in Minnesota. The netminder finished the season with a 14-7-1 (W-L-OTL) record, 2.90 goals-against average and .888 save percentage. He also claimed two shutouts. Karki is committed to the University of North Dakota.

Ryan Ullan (Hibbing, Minn.) recorded a 24-4-0 record in net for Hibbing / Chisholm (Minn.) High School. The goalie registered a 1.84 GAA and .919 save percentage in addition to five shutouts for the Bluejackets.

Defensemen

Ty Emberson (Eau Claire, Wis.) manned the blue line in 27 games for Eau Claire (Wis.) High School. The defensemen scored 11 goals and recorded 28 assists.

DJ King (Scottsdale, Ariz.) skated in 65 games for the Mississauga Rebels midget minor squad. The blueliner potted 14 goals and added 30 helpers in Greater Toronto Hockey League action.

Will MacKinnon (Plymouth, Mich.) played in 54 contests for the Detroit Honeybaked 16U program. The defensemen had 30 points (5-25) in High Performance Hockey League play. MacKinnon is committed to the University of Denver.

K’Andre Miller (Hopkins, Minn.) notched five markers and registered 11 helpers on defense for Minnetonka (Minn.) High School. He played in 26 games for the Skippers.

Adam Samuelsson (Rye, N.Y.) manned the blue line for the Connecticut Jr. Rangers 16U squad. The defender collected 19 points (3-16) in 38 games within the U.S. Premier Hockey League. Samuelsson is committed to Boston College.

Mattias Samuelsson (Voorhees, N.J.) recently completed the 2015-16 season with the Northwood Prep (N.Y.) squad. The defensemen scored 13 goals to go along with 15 helpers in 45 contests. Samuelsson is committed to the University of Michigan.

Spencer Stastney (Mequon, Wis.) notched six goals and registered 39 assists in 61 games with the Chicago Mission 16U team of the HPHL. Stastney is committed to the University of Notre Dame.

Bode Wilde (Birmingham, Mich.) tallied 17 markers and recorded 22 assists in 61 games with the Chicago Mission 16U team of the HPHL. Wilde is committed to Harvard University.

Forwards

Jack DeBoer (Madison, N.J.) skated in 24 games with Salisbury Prep in Connecticut. The forward lit the lamp nine times and added four assists. DeBoer is committed to Boston University.

Joel Farabee (Cicero, N.Y.) amassed 125 points (49-76) in 66 contests with Selects Academy 16U in Connecticut. The forward, who nearly averaged two points a game in USPHL play, is committed to Boston University.

Patrick Giles (Chevy Chase, Md.) suited up for the Baltimore Skipjacks 16U program in 2015-16. The forward netted 11 goals and dished out 14 helpers in 30 USPHL contests. Giles is committed to Boston College.

Jake Goldowski (Thornhurst, Pa.) notched 35 goals and added 50 assists in 55 North American Prospects Hockey League games while skating for the Wilkes-Barre Scranton 16U squad. Goldowski is committed to Penn State University.

Jonathan Gruden (Rochester, Mich.) recently completed his season after 55 games with the Detroit Honeybaked 16U program in the HPHL. The forward accumulated 59 points (31-28) and is committed to Miami University.

Trevor Janicke (Maple Grove, Minn.) played in 28 games for Maple Grove (Minn.) High School. He netted 15 goals and registered 26 helpers and is committed to the University of Notre Dame.

Blade Jenkins (Jackson, Mich.) racked up 127 points (55-72) playing for the Detroit Compuware 16U squad. Averaging over two points per game in the HPHL, Jenkins is committed to the University of Michigan.

Erik Middendorf (Scottsdale, Ariz.) comes to the NTDP from the Phoenix Coyotes 16U program of the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League. The forward skated in 32 games lighting the lamp 15 times to compliment 10 assists.

Jake Pivonka (Woodridge, Ill.) skated in 58 games with the Chicago Mission 16U team in the HPHL. He tallied 58 markers and recorded 23 assists. Pivonka is committed to the University of Notre Dame.

Oliver Wahlstrom (Quincy, Mass.) recently finished his season as a forward for the Shattuck-St. Mary’s Prep squad. He scored 19 goals and added 23 helpers in 37 contests. Wahlstrom is committed to Harvard University.

Tyler Weiss (Raleigh, N.C.) played for the Don Mills Flyers midget minor program in 2015-16, skating in 31 games. He netted 21 goals and registered 20 assists. Weiss is committed to Boston University.

Jake Wise (North Andover, Mass.) notched 19 goals and collected 27 assists in 22 games with Central Catholic High School in Massachusetts. Wise is committed to Boston University.
