Here’s a look at some of the top storylines from a busy weekend across the league:
Brantford Remain Perfect in Regulation
The CHL’s top-ranked Brantford Bulldogs continue to be the only team without a regulation loss, entering the week at 14–0–4–1. They lead the league in both power-play efficiency and total goals scored. Jake O’Brien tops the OHL in scoring with 38 points, and Marek Vanacker leads in goals with 18.
Ottawa 67’s Extend Point Streak
The 67’s swept all three of their games last week, outscoring their opponents 17–6 and extending their point streak to nine games. Their success has been led by 2025 import pick Jasper Kuhta, who leads the team in scoring with 25 points and is backed by rookie goaltender Ryder Fetterolf, who just recently earned the OHL Rookie of the Week honours for the second time this season.
Flint Firebirds Heating Up
The Firebirds went 3–0 again on the week, now sporting a six-game win streak. They defeated three powerhouses in London, Brantford and Owen Sound and are currently nipping at the heels of the Windsor Spitfires for first place in the West Division. Captain Nathan Aspinall also captured the Cogeco OHL Player of the Week honours with seven points (4-3–7) in last week’s action.
Matthew Minchak Standing Tall
Kingston Frontenacs goaltender Matthew Minchak currently sits atop the goaltending leaderboard with a 1.88 GAA and a .937 save percentage, despite the team only winning two of his last six starts.
Guelph Storm Thriving Through Injuries
Despite dealing with many injuries, the Storm went 2-0 on the weekend, giving them wins in eight of their last 11 games. Shorthanded on the blueline, forward Wil McFadden filled in on the back end and recorded an impressive six points (1-5–6) in the two wins.
Ben Hrebik Named Goaltender of the Week
Barrie Colts netminder Ben Hrebik is the Mary Brown’s Chicken OHL Goaltender of the Week after going 1-0-1-0 with a 1.46 GAA and .958 save percentage. He turned aside 69 shots across two starts, including 26 in Thursday’s 2–1 OT loss to Saginaw and 43 in Saturday’s 3–1 win over Peterborough.
Soo Greyhounds Complete Strong Road Trip
The Hounds earned five of six points on the weekend, defeating first-place Windsor 4-3 in overtime and blanking Kitchener 4-0 behind Landon Miller’s first OHL shutout. They then fell 3-2 in a shootout to London to close out the trip. NHL Draft prospect Chase Reid continues to impress, leading the team with 27 points (9G, 18A) over 24 games, while Pittsburgh Penguins prospect Jordan Charron sits second in OHL goal-scoring with 17 tallies.
Jaden Cholette Earns First OHL Shutout
Jaden Cholette posted his first career OHL shutout Sunday in a 1–0 win over Erie, turning aside 27 shots and earning first-star honours.
Dimian Zhilkin Buries Four Goals
Saginaw forward Dimian Zhilkin erupted for four goals on Sunday night, bringing him to 14 on the season. He’s now riding a five-game point streak with seven points (4G, 3A).
Harry Nansi Extends Point Streak
Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Harry Nansi of the Owen Sound Attack holds the league’s longest active point streak, tallying 17 points (2G, 15A) over his last eight games. His 24 assists lead all Attack skaters.
