OHL Sarnia Sting Sold

In a surprisingly well kept move, the OHL’s Sarnia Sting have been sold.

Pending OHL approval, Former NHLer Derian Hatcher and current NHLer David Legwand will be the two new principal owners.

Current owners Larry Ciccarelli and Rob Ciccarelli, only agreed to sell the team when Hatcher and Legwand committed to not move the team out of Sarnia.

No operational or staff changes have been discussed that would effect the immediate future of the franchise.

The next OHL board meeting is February 2 at which time this sale and the sale of the Plymouth Whalers is expected to receive league approval.

TJHN will update this story as more information becomes available.
