The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has appointed an investigator from outside of the league to look into allegations of gross indecency involving players from the Gatineau Olympiques.
Attorney Richard Paquette has been retained to investigate the case stemming from an alleged incident last Friday, Feb. 20, the league said in a statement Friday evening.
“The investigation is already in progress and Mr. Paquette has begun his meetings on the ground to obtain all necessary information and shed light on the events,” the statement said. “The Gatineau Olympiques organization, as well as the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League wish to reiterate that they take this situation very seriously and are working with the authorities for the ongoing police investigation.
“No further comment will be made until the investigation is completed.”
