Prince Albert, Sask.- After falling behind 3-1 in their first-round series against the Edmonton Oil Kings, the Prince Albert Raiders have stormed back to win three straight games and advance to the second round of the 2025 WHL Playoffs.
Prince Albert completed the comeback with a dominant 5-0 in front of a sellout crowd at the Art Hauser Centre, powered by a stunning 30-save performance from veteran netminder Max Hildebrand.
Alternate captain Aiden Oiring scored the series-winning goal, while Seattle Kraken prospect Lukas Dragicevic added a goal and two assists.
Edmonton only won one game in Prince Albert with a 3-1 decision in game one. The Raiders levelled the series with a 6-1 win in Game 2 before Edmonton won a pair at Rogers Place (3-2, 3-2).
The East Division leaders rebounded with a 4-2 win on home ice and a gutsy 4-3 road win in Game 6 to set up Tuesday’s deciding match.
The Raiders will face the Eastern Conference leading Medicine Hat Tigers in Round Two of the 2025 WHL Playoffs presented by Nutrien.
