Remembering Buffalo Stampede Defenseman Ben Fike

By Buffalo Stampede Staff

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of the tragic passing of Stampede defenseman, Ben Fike. Ben was a veteran presence in our locker room who was truly loved by all who he encountered.

As a local Lockport, N.Y., native, Ben was right at home in the cozy confines of Cornerstone Arena, when he signed with the Stampede this past summer. The veteran defenseman appeared in 14 games for the stampede this season. Ben made his USPHL debut during the 2019-20 season with the Lake Erie Bighorns of the Great Lakes Division.

Ben will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. We respectfully ask that Ben’s family, friends, and teammates be given privacy in the coming days and weeks as they work through these impossibly challenging times.
