The Blades will battle for WHL glory in 2026.
Saskatoon has qualified for the postseason with a 5-3 victory over the Penticton Vees.
Captain Tyler Parr scored the game-winning goal midway through the second period, and Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Evan Gardner made 26 saves to backstop the Blades. Calgary Flames prospect Hunter Laing registered a three-point night (1G-2A) to help fuel the Blades on offense.
The Blades are currently third in the East Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference, having won 30 games this season.
The team is bolstered by a trio of top 2026 NHL Draft-eligible skaters and current NHL prospects.
2025 Edmonton Oil Kings fourth-rounder David Lewandowski leads the Blades in scoring with 57 points, while Laing stands as one of two 20-goal scorers on the squad.
In net, Gardner has won 22 games – surpassing the 20-win plateau for the third time in three WHL seasons.
Forwards Cooper Williams and Zach Olsen are ranked 42nd and 43rd, respectively, by NHL Central Scouting in the agency’s midterm player rankings, while defenceman and alternate captain Brayden Klimpke is rated 79th among all North American skaters.
All three helped Team East clinch a 4-3 overtime win at last week’s WHL Prospects Game.
Saskatoon has qualified for the playoffs for five straight seasons.
The Blades’ regular season will conclude on Saturday, March 21, with a rivalry showdown against the Eastern Conference-leading Prince Albert Raiders.
