Saturday Highlights: Colts clinch playoffs on Aitcheson’s third period pair

  • The Colts trailed for the majority of this one, that is until NHL Draft eligible Kashawn Aitcheson buried two late goals in order to secure the comeback win.
  • Caden Taylor, Gavin Bryant, and Brady Stonehouse all scored for the Petes.
  • Cole Beaudoin and Emil Hemming each netted a power play goal in the win.
  • Petes goaltender Easton Rye made 40 saves in the loss.

Niagara IceDogs 3 at Kingston Frontenacs 6 

  • The Fronts came out hot and stayed hot, with players from up and down the lineup contributing. This included the game-winner scored by Riley Clark in a three point performance.
  • Ben Pickell had two goals in the win.
  • Andrei Loshko buried two for the IceDogs, alongside another from Mathieu Paris—but this wasn’t enough to overcome the Fronts’ lead.
  • The win is Kingston’s 13th straight on home ice while Niagara suffers a 10th straight loss.

Sudbury Wolves 1 at Brampton Steelheads 8

  • The Steelheads put on another scoring masterclass in this one, with Angus MacDonell and Carson Rehkopf both scoring hat-tricks in the win.
  • Chase Coughlan got the Wolves on the board in the second period, but this proved to be their only one of the night.
  • Luke Misa and Porter Martone each registered a pair of assists.
  • Jack Ivankovic made 24 saves on 25 shots and earned second star honours.

Windsor Spitfires 4 at Flint FIrebirds 5

  • Alex Kostov buried the game-winner for the Firebirds late in the third period—sealing the deal on this back-and-forth battle.
  • Ryan Abraham kept the Spits in it with his second career hat-trick.
  • Nathan Aspinall scored two in a row to overtake the Spits after trailing 3-2 at the end of the second period.
  • Nathan Day stopped 36-of-40 to earn the win.

London Knights 5 at Erie Otters 1

  • The Knights put up five, and the Otters weren’t able to find any momentum. Noah Read’s second period snipe stood as the game-winner.
  • Malcolm Spence scored the lone goal for the Otters.
  • Easton Cowan opened the scoring for the Knights with his 20th of the season.
  • William Nicholl and Noah Read both had a goal and an assist in the win.
  • Austin Elliott stopped 34-of-35 to improve to 24-1-0-0.
  • A crowd of 6,146 was on hand at Erie Insurance Arena.

  • Storm Rookie Carter Stevens scored the game-winner on the power play early in the second frame.
  • James Guo and Zayne Parekh each netted one for the Spirit.
  • Spirit forward Michael Misa recorded two assists to give him a new Spirit single season record 112 points.
  • Jett Luchanko had two goals and an assist in the Storm win.
  • Zachary Jovanovski stopped 33-of-35 for the win.
