Seacoast Spartans To Join NCDC In 2024-25

The United States Premier Hockey League (“USPHL”) is pleased to announce that the Seacoast Spartans will be leaving the Eastern Hockey League (“EHL”) and joining the USPHL in 2024-25, fielding a team at the National Collegiate Development Conference (“NCDC”) Tier II junior level. The Spartans will play out of The Rinks At Exeter, in Exeter, N.H., and will join the New England Division as the division’s eighth member and its third tuition based team. The Spartans entered the EHL during the 2019-20 season, and they have enjoyed winning seasons the past two years, making the Division Championship series in each of 2022-23 and 2023-24.

“We are excited to welcome the Seacoast organization to the USPHL,” said USPHL Interim Commissioner Murry N. Gunty. “The Spartans have built elite Midget and Junior teams that compete at the highest levels and will help us make our league stronger.”

“Moving from the EHL was a big move for our franchise. The NCDC and USPHL are among the most respected junior leagues in North America and very much in alignment with our organization’s drive for excellence,” said Travis Bezio, President of BSP Sports Management LLC. “With so much change happening in junior and youth hockey, it is imperative that you are working with partners that are forward-thinking and share your commitment to providing the most outstanding experience to our players. Working with the leadership in the USPHL has been a refreshing change for our organization, and we look forward to helping the league and the team partners to be the best.”

The Spartans will be one of two NCDC teams based at The Rinks At Exeter, a two-sheet facility that is also home to the Thunder Hockey Club. The Seacoast Spartans will also play under the NCDC’s experimental pay-to-play model for the 2024-25 season, alongside two other new NCDC members who have made the move from the EHL, the Boston Jr. Rangers and Railers Junior Hockey Club.

The Spartans will hold their NCDC Main Camp August 9-11 at The Rinks At Exeter.
