BRAMPTON, ON — The Brampton Steelheads are proud to announce the signing of defenceman David Green to an OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Green, a Toronto native, was originally selected 88th overall in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection by the Sarnia Sting. He was acquired by the Steelheads in late June in a trade that sent forward Jack Van Volsen to Sarnia.
The 6-foot-2, 182-pound blueliner spent last season with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL, recording 14 points (4G, 10A) in 62 games. He had previously committed to Merrimack College (NCAA Division I). David is also the older brother of Peter Green, the Steelheads’ 2025 first-round pick.
Prior to his time in the USHL, Green graduated from the Toronto Marlboros AAA program. He had an outstanding 2023-24 season, being named the CJHL’s Defenceman of the Year after recording 57 points (18-39–57) over 56 games with the St. Michael’s Buzzers.
