The Pioneers rallied in the third with three unanswered goals to top Universel Quebec. Karl Strandberg opened the scoring in the second before Grant Matushak, Gavin Elkins, and Kellen Matushak sealed the comeback. Nathan Pelletier and Viktors Klabis tallied for Universel.
Utica Jr. Comets 5 vs. Springfield Pics 2
Four second-period goals fueled the Comets’ road victory over Springfield. Josh Gregoire, Joshua Galizia, Xavier Goodwin, and Sam Prokupets all found the net in the middle frame, while Zach Groleau added one late. Owen Briggs and Jonah Winslow scored for the Pics.
