Texas Tornado To Return

While many rumors have been spreading throughout the hockey world regarding the potential demise of the NAHL’s Texas Tornado, those rumors can now be put to rest.

With the release of the NAHL showcase schedule, and the inclusion of the Texas Tornado in that schedule players, parents and fans can now be assured that the team will take the ice in the 2013-2014 season.

The only questions remaining are;

Where will the Tornado play?

Who will be coaching the team?

TJHN sources are indicating that the Tornado ownership is still attempting to obtain a lease at the Nytex Center but that a backup plan is already in place at another local rink.  This backup plan is being put in place to allow the team to continue with scheduling and negotiations with Nytex.

TJHN sources are also reporting that Dan Wildfong will be the coach of the Tornado this season.  Though not confirmed with team or league sources, players have informed TJHN that Wildfong is actively recruiting for 2013.

Announcements from the NAHL regarding scheduling, the Tornado arena plan and coaching should be made shortly.
