The Death Pool – 250 Players At “Main Camp” Is Not An Opportunity Its Called Bullshit

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope everyone is as excited as I am to be in the second week of July.  You all know that means we are only days away from what we all come to look forward to and that’s the massive number of pay to play team folding news that’s sure to come.

Ahhhhhh yes, can you smell it?  Smell what you ask?  Why, its the smell of opportunity!  Indeed, the opportunity to attend a “Main Camp” at the Tier II level either in the NAHL or up in Canada in any one of the 130 or so CJHL teams!  Its a real honor isn’t it?!?!

Oh yeah, if you mean its an honor to get lost in the other 250 players who got the honor of being invited to “Main Camp”!

That’s right everyone, 250 kids at “Main Camp”.  I got reports from people attending two camps in the last few days and each of these two camps had close to 250 players!  Are you F#@%ing kidding me!!!!!

See this is when what should be an honor turns into absolute bullshit.  You know what though, every one of you idiots that signed up for this shit and saw how many kids were there and you didn’t leave, you deserve to be cut and left feeling stupid.

That’s right.  If you arrive at “Main Camp” and you see how many players are attending, and you still stick around thinking “They are really interested in me”, and you weren’t drafted or tendered, you are an idiot.

One camp had 45 goalies!!!!  That’s right, 45 freakin goalies!!!!  Nahhhhhhh, no money grab here kids.

See, when you leave one of these camps and call the credit card company that you used to pay with, and cancel the charge because you didn’t receive what was promised, there is nothing these teams can do.  That’s right kids, turn around and leave.

The time has come for you parents, yes you parents who keep paying for this bullshit, to stop paying.  Want to know why your kid isn’t getting anywhere?  Its because you keep doing the same old unsuccessful bullshit that you and everyone else you know does every year.  The desperation can be smelled outside each arena like rotting flesh.

One camp to another, to another, to another.  Team after team, after team, after team.  A thousand bucks here, and here, and here, and there.

“Oh, I just want to get the experience of playing with Tier II players.”  Freakin priceless statement there kids.  You really think you are playing with those players when there are 250 kids in camp?  Wake up.

Just a hint for ya in case you don’t believe what I am saying.  Main Camp should not be more than 60 players.

The National Team Development Program brings in 48 players for Main Camp.  Here is the proof.  Now, if they are only bringing in 48, because they had all the same type of identification camps earlier in the year just like Tier II does, why do Tier II teams need 250 players?  Why do they need more than 60 players?

The only reason why is because it makes money.  But hey you got some ice time right?!

Stay tuned kids, we got us some teams on life support and we may have a few bodies heading to the morgue any minute now.
