There are money grab camps, and then there are complete scams. Dan Garneau and Elite Hockey Prep Camps are not even honest enogh to be called a money grab. They are a complete fraud and nothing more than a scam camp based upon complete and total lies.
Dan Garneau and Elite Hockey Prep Camps just “postponed” the camp scheduled for May 15 to 19 to August 3 to 5, 2025. So, not only is the camp postponed, but it has been shortened by two days.
$595 for a three day camp? In August no less? During a time when all the Junior A camps in Canada are taking place, and after all high level team events have take place in the US? Just who is expected to travel to Canada to watch these players in August?
Whats the problem? Well the problem is that none of the NCAA coaches being advertised as attending are actually attending. None of them attended last year or the year before.
Another problem is that the players who have previously been scammed or attended a showcase with no scouts, are no longer dumb enough to do it again.
Players contacted through Elite Prospects from all over the world have booked flights, hotels, rental cars, and paid for things in advance only to learn that the camp will not take place. But this is standard operating procedure for Dan Garneau and Elite Hockey Prep Camp.
Refunds? Not a chance. The refund policy is that once March passes, there are no refunds. Why? Because the money has been spent.
We have been hearing from players across North America and Europe who have paid, and will now lose not only the camp payment, but payments made on flights and other items needed to attend.
But this is all common place for Dan Garneau. He has been cancelling camps and scamming people out of their money in the United States and Canada for years. This is not just something that happens, its something that is predictable, and there is a pattern.
This is the same Dan Garneau we have reported on multiple times, for doing the same exact thing. The same person who then threatens to kill himself if TJHN doesnt take the story down. The same person who emails threats, and then hires cheap legal services to make more threats.
Camps get cancelled all the time for any number of reasons. When camps are cancelled or postponed, refunds are provided in most cases. If not refuds, then credits are provided for another event at another time. But this is not one of those situations.
So, if you’re a player scammed by Dan Garneau, reach out to us through social media. We have a showcase going on May 16 to 18 in Detroit, and we will get you in. If we need to add teams to make it happen we will do so.
