Happy Monday Kids! Everyone hates Mondays right? Well, I am sure there are more than a few players on the Illiana Blackbirds team that are hating this Monday. Guess what kids, if you wouldn’t have started talking the day after your team mates were arrested, no one would have found out about it. Thank yourselves and your own team mates for putting you in a position to have to defend your actions, don’t blame the people who finally snitched you out. Yeah that’s right boys its called taking responsibility.
Speaking of taking responsibility, we had this beaut of a photo emailed to us the other day, courtesy of Chad Miller’s Twitter account;
Yep, that’s the brain surgeon giving a shout out to “the whole league I run” the day news of his arrest broke on TJHN. No better way to show your remorse and regret than getting into a Twitter pissing match with people. Also pretty classy to post those types of profile pictures. Yep, no problem here folks, move along, nothing to see.
Phone calls to the publisher this weekend from people in the Illiana circle were insane. Some idiots were more upset that they were found out than the fact that this actually happened. Really? It’s HEROIN you idiots! It kills people!
So yeah, the Blackbirds sat the two players who were busted this weekend, and I am sure they blame them sitting for being knocked out of the MNJHL playoffs. Well. had they been kicked off the team when it happened you probably wouldn’t have had the second seed in the playoffs to begin with. Blame the players for their actions that put you in this position, not the league for stepping in and doing the right thing.
In case you missed it kids, drug use contributed to the suicide of Terry Trafford. After getting caught smoking a joint he was so depressed after getting suspended he took his own life. Think drug abuse isn’t a problem?
Got a problem with my point of view on this? Too bad. I mentioned this instance three weeks ago in this story https://thejuniorhockeynews.com/?p=23405 That’s right kids, everyone has been talking about this for over a month, and we just had the smoking gun emailed to us.
Does anyone think mandatory drug testing shouldn’t be enforced now? Zero tolerance is the only way. Any parent want their kid sitting in a dressing room with kids using drugs? Want your kid around that influence? If you say you don’t care you need your head examined too.
Get caught doing drugs and you’re done. Get caught covering it up and the team is done. That’s the way it should be anyway. What’s it going to take to finally do the right thing, more young people dying?
