The Death Pool – Fighting Banned In Junior Hockey – Special Report

With the news coming out last night that USA Hockey has followed Hockey Canada’s lead in the elimination of fighting from junior hockey, many parents are jumping for joy.  Fighting Is Out In USA Hockey

All I can say is its about damn time.

Really kids, no one wants the one dimensional dumb dumb on their team any more.  No one wants to sit next to the idiot in the stands that is only there to watch a fight either.

Anyone who thinks fighting is really part of the game has probably never gotten their ass kicked, or face smashed in by someone who is not only strong but has trained to beat your ass for years.

Is the rule going to eliminate fighting completely?  No.  Players will still fight when the heat of the moment makes it happen.  Gone will be the staged fights, and fights to try to spark a momentum change.  The momentum change staged fight almost never works anyway.

Gone will be the morons in Junior Hockey that like to jump other players.  Gone will be the big slow players who shouldn’t be on a team to begin with.  Gone will be the coaches that encourage fighting.  Again, its about damn time.

Oh booooo hoooooo to all you people crying that stick work will get more players hurt.  There will be more hits from behind, and all the other excuses you make up for wanting to see two kids beat the shit out of each other.  Your a bunch of masochists looking for an excuse to watch someone else bleed.

The hits from behind, hits to the head, and fighting will end when players are coached properly.  When they are taught how to check, how to hit, how to respect their opponent.  All of the garbage in the game will end when referee’s call games consistently.  The garbage in the game will be gone when rules are enforced consistently in every league and standards are upheld.

How many players who could have been developed into better players have lost a roster spot to a player who was there to be the enforcer?  Thousands and thousands of them.  I am willing to bet that a very good player somewhere in there quit the game because of the practice.

One fight and you are ejected.  Nice, I like it.  More fights throughout the year with stiffer penalties?  I like that too.

Gone will be the line brawls, gone will be the bench clearing brawls.  Thank god I wont have to sit next to any more of the morons who couldn’t describe an off sides play to save their lives, but get their fat asses off the seat and scream when there is a fight.

USA Hockey has finally gotten a major rule change done, and they have done it right.  R.I.P. to all the morons.
