Oh yeah, you know boys will be boys right? Couple beers, couple shots and a couple joints after the season with the boys aint no big deal mom. Hell coach knew where we were and it was safe.
How many times have we heard that story kids? Oh prolly a hundred times a year at the end of each season right. Farizzle.
Well how about we end the practice. See, its really against the law for anyone to turn a blind eye to the end of the season party. Yeah, yeah, I know I am a downer right. Well brain surgeon how about pulling your head out of your butt for a minute and thinking.
So a few weeks ago I wrote about the two idiots who got busted buying heroin from some under cover cops. Yep, you guessed it, coach covered it up, and hey they are still rolling along in the playoffs. Awesome stuff. Way to reward bad behavior coach! I wonder what’s going to happen when the name of the team covering this crap up is published at the end of the year? Yep, we will publish the team name this summer.
So that is the kind of cover up that people should be banned for.
So what about the end of the season party? Not a big deal right? Yeah, well it aint a big deal till some moron makes sure the young guy does too many shots and drinks too many beers to follow up the bowl everyone smoked and ends up in the hospital with alcohol poisoning. Still think its not a big deal?
What about the other idiot who steals a car when he is so messed up he cant see straight and runs over a bunch of mailboxes down the street? Yep it was cool when mom and dad had to fly in to town to bail his ass out of jail.
Don’t worry, Coach knows where we are and its all cool right?
Hey coach, you are committing several crimes by allowing it to happen. Contributing to the delinquency of a minor, child endangerment, and you might just have more charges if you could have stopped it.
But hey, who cares right, boys will be boys.
Well will boys still be boys when one of them comes home at the end of the year in a body bag?
When is enough, really enough? When will people realize that the under age drinking and the end of the season party is not alright? When will a coach finally practice what he preaches and be accountable?
