The Death Pool – MWJHL Looking To Leave AAU

Happy Monday boys and girls.  Today is just another beautiful day with another example of how at the Tier III level it is every man for himself when it comes to survival.  This may not be bad news for the MWJHL, but it don’t look so good for AAU of the United Hockey Union.

The Mid West Junior Hockey League is looking to leave the Amateur Athletic Union and the United Hockey Union to join USA Hockey.  Yep, you heard it here first kids.

The AAU and UHU had four leagues under its wings just a few months ago.  The NSHL has left, and is under the management of the NAHL and now known as the NA3EHL.  They now have the honorable distinction of having the longest nonsensical set of league initials in the business! Ha Ha Ha

Now the MWJHL is looking to go on their own under USA Hockey.  Oh sure, some might deny it right now, but as with any denial, there is proof to uphold the fact that they are definitely looking to make the move.

A meeting took place in Michigan just about ten weeks ago between the MWJHL and USA Hockey.  And while some key players want it to happen, not everyone in the MWJHL may be on board.

While all of this is supposed to be hush hush, players are already talking, and teams are lining up to make it happen.  You got to ask yourself why they want to make it happen though.  You got to begin to wonder if all these teams looking for alternatives to USA Hockey and looking for the greener grass aren’t finding the grass isn’t greener on the other side.

It gets better though.  Until this article was written AAU and UHU had no clue that the MWJHL was looking to leave.  Hmmmmmmm I wonder how they will feel about another league leaving.  Hard to have a “United Hockey Union” when every league is leaving the “Union”.  A Union isn’t two leagues working together, that’s called a partnership.

But hey, the MWJHL is trying to take steps to make itself look legitimate.  Cant blame them for that right?  But does anyone really believe that the watered down Tier III hockey being played today is legitimate when you have kids cut from Midget AA teams lighting up some of these leagues?  Really?

In case you haven’t gotten it by now kids, Tier III hockey, can be a dirty cut throat business.  Its not always about whats best for the players, in the end its usually about whats best for the organization.  Stay tuned we got more exciting stuff coming in more special reports.
