The Death Pool – Philli Little Flyers Met League Team Has Vanished

Happy Monday everyone!  Wow, what a busy weekend.  The email box was getting pounded all weekend with various reports from several teams and leagues.  Lots of research to be done for sure.

But one little item caught my eye on Friday after we got a little tip from one of our East Coast Death Cherubs.

Yep, it seems like the Philadelphia Little Flyers entry in the Met Junior Hockey League has vanished!  We thought about putting out an all points bulletin to find the franchise, but we decided against it after doing a little sniffing around.

Turns out, that the Little Flyers Met League entry has flown off to the heavens.  Yep, they are off the website, off the schedule, and are no where else to be found.

It was only August 21st, just a month ago from the day this will be published that the Little Flyers announced this on their website;

“The Little Flyers MET Team still has a few remaining spots open for the upcoming 2015-16 season; a few D and some Forward spots still remain for the roster.  If you wish to become a Little Flyer and play within their Junior Program, this is a great opportunity.  If you are interested please contact TJ McCarthy.”

So, as you can see as the Chief killer offer of teams, I was amazed that a team who only had a few openings left last month was suddenly gone.

Ummmmm yeah, well I didn’t have to look to hard to find out that over saturation of junior hockey in the Philadelphia market was the cause of death.

Yeah, you cant think that when an NAHL franchise comes to play in your barn that you can support NAHL, EHL, MHL, and NAPHL programs.  Yeah, that might just be considered to be a little too much!  Who is the brain surgeon who thought that would work?!

So, we say so long to a franchise that has been in the Met League since 2003.  Yep, a franchise that was in existence for 12 years!  Expansion is awesome isn’t it kids!  That’s right, keep opening up new markets and screwing those that have been around for more than a decade.

The real difficult part about this is finding a place to bury the body.  I mean seriously folks, everywhere I dig out there I am digging up a skeleton the Philli mob left behind in the 70’s!

Stay tuned kids, we got plenty of updates coming.  Verifying pictures and other info we got over the weekend.  Crazy to think that parents are so pissed at some teams for taking their money and not having nearly a full roster that they are turning in their own teams!  Can you believe it, a customer is actually pissed because they feel lied to!  Amazing.
