You know everyone talks in this game right? We all hear who the dope fiends are eventually. All the stories get out eventually too because most of you are too messed up to remember that you posted some dumb comment on Facebook or Twitter when you were high. Even better is when you post some pictures of you and the boys all messed up for the world to see! Yep, that’s what schools and higher level teams love to see!
I think its time for mandatory drug testing and a zero tolerance in Junior, College and Pro hockey at all levels.
Disagree? Any parent or athlete that disagrees with that thought needs to examine where those thoughts are coming from. Some may say its an invasion of privacy or something like that. Really? Maybe its because little Bobby is the one stealing your rolling papers. HA HA HA
So what if little Bobby is a clean athlete? Wouldn’t you want to know if the kid next to him in the dressing room is on drugs? What if the kid next to him makes a mistake and hurts your kid because he is high on the ice? Privacy don’t matter too much then does it?
What if his team is on a road trip and the bus gets pulled over and the cops arrest your little boy because the dope fiend he is sitting next to stuffs his stash in Bobby’s gym bag to hide it?
Think it wont happen? Ummmmm yeah okay pull your heads out of the sand parents. It has happened.

Those players are still on the team! Yeah that’s right kids, the team doesn’t want to see their best players leave before the playoffs so they will sweep it under the rug and be ready to go. Put me in Coach!

Everyone in this teams league knows it happened! That’s right. No one is willing to pull the trigger and send these idiots home or inform the league Commissioner who the players are. Yep, that’s the way to set an example. Never mind simply doing the right thing.

Hey now, I’m not saying everyone is using drugs here, but random mandatory drug testing could easily keep the ones that are using from getting some that aren’t to start. It might just save a life or two.
Maybe a team in Colorado called the 420’s is a good idea after all?! Light em up if ya got em kids, third period starts in 15! Yep that’s an in game pep talk for sure.
