Hey Moms and Dads, hope everyone enjoys a great day with their family today. I am hanging with my Dad and going fishing. But before I headed out to the lake, I wanted to drop this little bit of info on you all since I am hearing more about this crap every week.
Just in case you were not aware, it is unethical and a complete conflict of interest, for any Junior Hockey Coach to also work as an adviser, or advisor depending on how you want to spell it. Read that again, its freakin UNETHICAL AND A CONFLICT OF INTEREST.
If you are a junior hockey coach, you are already getting paid to assist in developing and moving players on to higher levels of hockey. For someone to then charge an extra fee to do the damn job he is already being paid to do is dishonest.
Oh yeah, I know a couple guys in Canada and Tier III right now are saying its alright. But it isn’t alright, its a freakin scam.
But what if I don’t play on the team they coach? Oh yeah, that’s a nice little excuse, and that’s bullshit too. If the junior hockey coach has you playing on another team and not his team then he needs to explain to his owner why you aren’t on the team. Or, you need to ask why you aren’t on his team? Or, he is freakin tampering every time he talks to you because he is with a different team.
Seriously, I couldn’t believe this when I started getting emails about it. And people wonder why everyone is getting skeptical on how teams are run?!
But hey, why not? I mean why not get on a pay to play team where the coach gets paid to coach, and then pay the coach extra for advising you? Hmmmmm you think any players might get preferential treatment in that little scheme? You think some kids are on some teams that shouldn’t be because of who the adviser is? Yeah, so right about now any team owner who isn’t firing the coach who is double dipping in this way is a moron or is in on the gig and getting a kickback.
So, all you parents might just start doing a little more homework, and start thinkin about just how good little Johnny is if you have to throw more money at his coach to get him on the team. Cuse if your kid sucks, he just sucks, and he aint going too far when money has little influence on owners that already have money.
Stay tuned kids, we got us some life support machines nearing flat line already! Oh hell yeah, some people just never learn. Sanctioned, unsanctioned, America, Canada, it doesn’t matter this year. Look for the ambulance in your teams parking lot when you pull up for camp kids!
