Good Thursday morning boys and girls. I got woken up from my nap after placing some headstones yesterday afternoon with the news that another bird of pray had been shot down. Something tells me there is going to be a run on Franks hot sauce at the store today! Ha Ha Ha
That’s right kids, the Adirondack Jr Red Wings have flown the coop! Or did they join the Firehawks and Icehawks in the great aviary in the sky? Oh well, lets just say another goose is cooked! I know I know, the puns are never ending for this stuff.
But yeah, the Empire league entry is done after three seasons. Now that doesn’t mean the organization is done, because they are moving forward with Midget hockey. But the Junior team is done.
Why? Ummmmmmm well yeah, maybe it has something to do with the fact that they couldn’t get enough players! At least this team admitted it in their release;
“Its a day we were hoping we could avoid but with the ever shifting landscape of Junior Hockey Wings management has decided their focus needs to be on growing the program at the younger levels. The future is bright with 39 players in our 16U divisions”., says Co-Owner Ron Kuhl
Finally someone admits that the landscape is shifting! It has not only shifted, you might want to say the San Andreas Fault line of junior hockey is on the verge of the major quake everyone knew was coming but few wanted to prepare for!
The only question now after the quake is how many other teams are willing to admit that the sky is falling!
Stay tuned kids, make some popcorn, grab yourself a soda, and put your feet up. Hell, take a day or two off and just keep looking for more special reports, its going to be a busy few weeks.
