Ahhhhhhh yes. The end of August. Its that time of year that we look back on all the scouting that took place over the summer, and how all the teams worked, or didn’t work hard to recruit. Its like Christmas eve here at The Death Pool.
Late last night we began getting emails from players and parents saying their team is, or may be folding. Shocking isn’t it? I mean who would have thought that just a day or so before the USA Hockey protected lists are published teams would be pulling the plug.
Yeah so, we got us about 9 teams on the immediate death watch list right now. We got another 24 in the intensive care unit because their seasons start a little later. Then we got another 12 we think are just bullshitting people and they probably wont play or will fold before the holiday break.
Hell yeah! Stupidity reigns supreme once again in 2016. Ohhhhhh damn I almost forgot, yeah, and on Monday we got some serious news for you all. Yeah, if this shit doesn’t make all the pay to play boys collectively crap their pants not much will.
So yeah, we got teams in the USPHL, NA3AHL, NA3HL, RMJHL, and WSHL all on the watch list. We got the entire NCPHL on the watch list, and lets not forget everyone’s favorite league the GMHL!!!! Yeah we got a few of the GMHL teams on the immediate watch list too. Shocking isn’t it?!?! Ha Ha Ha
Can we get a “hell yeah” for some more pay to play expansion?! Lets get a big round of applause for all the idiots who stepped up with their wallets for this fantastic money making opportunity only to find out that the only people making money in this opportunity are the referee’s and the team and league employee’s!
So, on the eve before the USA Hockey protected lists come out, lets all look forward with great anticipation. Who will pull the pin on themselves, and who will simply get blown up by the grenade? Who will take the high road and let the few players they have signed go to other teams without trying to hold on when hope is not there? Who will be the douche bags who screw the players anyway?
Are you at camp now Johnny? Did you happen to see less than two full lines on the ice? Can you count? Hey mommy and daddy, did you actually believe that sales pitch of all the NAHL cut players coming to the team? Or did you all convince yourselves that the shit show you were signing with was the greatest show on ice?
Ahhhhhhhh yes. We got the formaldehyde waiting, the crematorium is warming up, and the fat lady is waiting in the wings. Who goes first? Step right up, don’t be shy…..
