Hey kids, Thank God Its Friday right?! Ummmmmm yeah well that is unless you owned stock in the Mattawa Blackhawks yesterday.
Sometimes its just not worth getting up in the morning right kids? I mean we have all been there haven’t we. Late night out, dealing with family the night before, or going through the daily operations of a junior hockey team! Ha Ha Ha Yeah, I know you owners reading this right now just got a little chuckle you don’t want to tell anyone about.
In a surprise move, yeah well, not so much of a surprise move, the NOJHL owners voted to remove the owner of the Mattawa Blackhawks from the league. Yep, the old boys club didn’t like what the young pup was doing with his team.
Hearing how things went down the move was done pretty slickly by the league. An early morning conference call, the commish heading to Mattawa while getting all the paperwork in order from the city, the city changing the locks on the arena, and then a meeting with players introducing the new ownership group.
BOOM talk about a bomb eh kids! That’s some Navy SEAL type shit right there isn’t it? SEAL team 7 NOJHL style.
The team owner didn’t see it coming. Ok, so well maybe he didn’t see it coming yesterday, but he had to see it coming at some point. All a sudden he is told the locks are being changed and BOOM. Ummmmm yeah, that’s what I call having a bad day. Like really bad day.
So, there’s a meeting with the players and the coaches. Coaches are staying and players are staying. Abra Kadabra a new franchise is granted by the NOJHL and the players keep chugging along.
But hey, the team is sticking together, and the games are being played. Maybe today aint as much of a Death Pool as it is a life pool. New franchise, new owner, new life. Hell its almost like spring isn’t it?
