Good Wednesday morning kids. Hope everyone is enjoying their hump day.
So, I was talking to the Boss yesterday, and we touched on the subject of all these stupid weekly and monthly rankings that people like to put out for junior hockey. Everyone is some kind of expert when not one person has seen every team. Its just a bunch of people voting for themselves or people they know in most cases.
Don’t think its true?
How about the Wenatchee Wild of the BCHL.
They didn’t even make the CJHL September 1st rankings. Not even an honorable mention. Now suddenly four weeks later they are number 4 in the CJHL?
Not only are they number 4, but there is only one other BCHL team even ranked in the top 20. Geeee whiz Gomer, how can this be when everyone likes to say how the BCHL is the best Junior A league in Canada. Yeah, well clearly according to who ever votes on this garbage doesn’t think so.
While the CJHL rankings are being used for this discussion, when will someone actually come out with a total ranking system for all Tier II. Ummmmmm yeah, well about that, look for one here soon on TJHN. One to include the NAHL. Hmmmmm I wonder how that will go over?
Considering the Wenatchee Wild are a team build as an NAHL team, and they weren’t even the best NAHL team, I got me a feeling that the rankings may just ruffle some feathers.
So, if you would like to sign up to participate in this voting, please send me an email [email protected]
That’s right kids, we are gonna shake some shit up here. If we get enough participants we are even going to publish the total vote counts for each team. But we’re not gonna do some weekly promotional crap, its going to be once a month and you’re gonna have to watch teams in each league either on line or in person.
Ummmm yeah, and if you work for a team, you cant vote for your team or anyone else in your league. Just to take the bias out of it.
Now, who wants to be a part of something real?
