Yeah, that’s about it from the absolute clueless leadership in USA Hockey when dealing with the USA Womens team. So now, the team is fighting back.
What does USA Hockey do when faced with this dilemma? Do they raise the pay as the team not only requested, but deserves? No. They take a public dump on the team, and state they have a “plan B” and will use replacement players.
Yep, lets just get these ungrateful little girls out of here and bring in some desperate other girls who will learn to keep their mouths shut. Perfect. Great job. Excellent leadership.

These women are only paid $1000 per month for the six months leading up to the Olympics. Yeah, $6000 for FOUR YEARS of work and dedication.
Olympic Committee funding can reach an extra $2,000 per month for top players, but many members of the team make as little as $750 per month. The Committee also pays a one-time bonus to all athletes winning medals at the Olympics. Maximum last Olympics would have been $25,000 for a gold medal.
I wonder how much money USA Hockey makes because this women’s team is so successful? How much merchandise is sold? How many girls start playing the game because of these women? How influential is this program on the game?
In the USA Hockey statement on this matter they say;
“USA Hockey is invested in the growth and development of girls and women at every level of play. As a matter of fact, USA Hockey has grown participation in girl’s and women’s hockey from just more than 23,000 players in 1998 to more than 73,000 today.”
Guess what USA Hockey. You wouldn’t have anywhere close to those numbers without this women’s team and the success they have had.
USA Hockey has their heads up their asses so far on so many subjects it needs an enema.
Then they go on to say that the USA Hockey role is not to employ athletes. Are you freakin kidding me?
Hey dummies, do you think your coaches in the NTDP will work for free? How about you only give the NTDP players the same financial support you give the women’s national team? Try that shit and see how far it goes.
What a joke. Yep, no problems in this country concerning equal pay for equal work is there. Way to be a leader USA Hockey. Way to show the world how great our country is. And someone is supposed to tell their daughter today that she can become anyone or anything she wants to become. Only it will be for less money than her brother.
