Ohhhhhhhh snap kids. You’re gonna love this stuff. I mean seriously, what you are about to read is going to make you laugh your ass off when I tell you who it was sent to.
So yeah, we get stuff sent to us from tons of people. Lots of it funny, and lots of it sad. But this one is a beauty. What makes this such a beauty? Well, the coach that sent this recruiting email was already warned by a phone call to stop some misleading recruiting tactics.
Its not uncommon for teams to send out mass emails recruiting. Almost all of them do it. They show up at showcases, scout players, get the email lists and bang they are off.
Whats great is when these lists are passed around to coaches who didn’t even attend the showcase. Low budget teams do this all the time. They will share the list for a fee, or for free when they are done with their recruiting.
How do we know? Well we caught the Glacier Yeti’s of the newly minted RMJHL calling players from The Pre Draft Combine and introducing themselves via their credentials as an NAHL scout trying to get kids to come to their Detroit tryout camp. Yep, just a little misleading information to open the recruiting door for what is actually just a Tier III camp.
Normally we would have dropped it there, and we did, until today.
The Glacier Yeti’s are so desperate, and under so much pressure to try to ice a team that they are sending emails to anyone!
Anyone as in a 58 year old head coach of another team! That’s right kids! Ummmmmmm yeah, so this is the best part of the email, which we have;
“My name is Jeremy Baker Head Coach/GM of the Glacier Yetis of the RMJHL. I also scout in the NAHL for the Wichita Falls Wildcats. We recently had a scout out, and saw you play, and I was following up with you to find out your plans next season and invite you to one of our upcoming, open camps.”
Yep, so they must have time traveled back to 1975 and really liked what this guy could do with his wooden stick! They saw him play?!?!?! Are you kidding me!?!
Think that’s funny? Whats funnier is that the email was actually sent to this coaches team email address that has the team domain name in the address!!!!!
So yeah, I hope who ever attends what is sure to be an amazing camp for the Yeti’s will take a picture of the time traveling Delorean the team owns! I am sure it is one sweet ride.
