Whew, if I see another piece of turkey any time soon, I am going to fall asleep standing up! I hope all you kids in the United States had a nice Thanksgiving holiday! Most of you were off for the weekend, but some of you are wishing you took the whole year off!
Welcome to this addition of “They aint dead yet….But they should be!” This was actually suggested writing by an avid reader out of the Chicago area. Maybe we should add Chicago style pizza to this list?! HA HA HA
First up kids is the Battle Creek Revolution. What can you say about this team that hasn’t already been said over the last few years? OHHHHHHH How about they are 1-19-0 this year, getting their only win against the expansion Topeka Capitals at the NA3HL showcase. They are averaging one goal scored per game while giving up more than six goals per game. Does anyone in Battle Creek even care enough to try to make this team better? Its embarrassing kids!
Right down the road from Battle Creek we have the Michigan Mountain Cats. Lighting it up with a record of 4-14-2 the Mountain Cats are nearing the half way point of their season and not even getting close to having half of the wins they had last season when they posted a record of 15-31-2. Then again, the last time I checked there weren’t any mountains in Michigan anyway, so maybe the whole team is just a figment of my imagination?
Lets hear it for the Bozeman Icedogs who are improving on last seasons 1-47-0 record with an outstanding 4-15-2 start for 2013-2014. When is someone going to figure it out that no one wants to play in Bozeman Montana?! Cold? UMMMMMMM How about colder than being six feet under! HA HA HA
How about those Washington Junior Nationals folks?! Coming off of a red hot 7-33-2-2 season in the AJHL for 2012-2013, the Nationals moved up to the EHL when all hell broke loose with re-alignment on the east coast this spring. How do you follow up last season? By starting out with a 1-15-0-1 record! That kids is how you build an empire! HA HA HA
What can I say that hasnt already been said about some of the teams from the Greater Metro League in the great white north of Canada? UMMMMMMM How about…….You got 20 teams up there and 9 of them have loosing records! Whats that say about the league kids? It sure aint about parity or balanced competition. Half the league beats up on the other half of the league. Sounds a lot like going to the casino and taking ten grand and betting black or red.
Dont leagues have rules regarding being competitive? I mean really, how long can you expect the parents and players to continue paying for this before a team that can not compete folds mid season and forces everyone to reschedule games? Let the bodies hit the floor.
And here I thought I wouldn’t get anything to write about this week. I guess I was right, stupidity doesn’t take any holidays off. HA HA HA I should have known better, cause if stupidity took time off congress would never get anything done? Oh damn kids, I think that was a double negative! HA HA HA
