Let that just simmer on your mind for a minute. Yeah, the NA3HL was essentially launched from what remained of the Central States Hockey League. The CSHL was once a pretty damn good league in the Mid West, and did a nice job of developing players.
Then someone came with the sales pitch. Lets make the CSHL into the NA3HL and we have the most awesome marketing plan in Tier 3 history. Yep, we are going to make it MANDATORY that NAHL teams “tender” NA3HL players, so we can artificially prop up numbers to make it look like players are moving up.
Yep, those were the golden days of the NA3HL. When parents and players actually fell for the sales pitch.
The only problem? Yeah, well most parents can do simple math these days and see that the NAHL doesn’t use the NA3HL for much other than filler when there are no other options.
Then we have the lack of competition. Yep, before the NA3HL “development” sham was figured out by most smart hockey parents, the competition was good across the board. But not so much now.
Just a few years ago the NA3HL was a 48 team league. Now its 36 teams and at least 6 of those teams cant even compete with the rest of the league. Shit, so many teams are short full rosters, you cant even respect the teams that do have full rosters because the competition isn’t even fair.
Its time to pull the plug on the NA3HL. Time to say thanks but no thanks and look at other options.
For all you players eligible to play U18 and U16, you need to be running like hell. Oh yeah and if you go back to U18 or U16, the team cant force you to stay on the contract. Yeah, they will threaten you but they cant do anything. You weren’t too smart thinking you should be playing junior anyway, so go back where you belong.
When teams are being out scored by more than 12 or 13 to 1 margins every night, its time to pack your shit and go home.
