The Death Pool – Trade Deadline Disaster In Canada Tier II Embarrassing The Nation

The Canadian Junior Hockey League. That name alone, like the Canadian Hockey League consisting of the Major Junior Leagues is a complete misrepresentation of reality.

You cant have a “league” made up of TEN different leagues and 150 teams and call it a league. You call it a governing body. And you know that every governing body pretty much shits the bed when ever they get the chance.

Well this years, CJHL self imposed, self regulated “Trade Deadline” was a disaster for the OJHL and the players involved with trades. Why? Because either everyone didn’t know what was going on and what the rules were, or someone knew and was trying to play games with players careers anyway.

Lets remember the OJHL is a pay to play league. Players are paying the teams to play there. So, they should have some rights because they are customers. They also pay the OJHL to be in the league. Some of that money eventually goes to support the CJHL offices. So, everyone at every level has their hands in the cookie jar and is getting paid.

So why is it that teams in the OJHL thought the trade deadline was at Midnight on January 10th, 2019,and the CJHL said it was at 6:00 PM? That’s a six hour difference on the same day.

How can the league and the governing body cant get its shit together? Can not protect the players who are paying between 8 and 12 Thousand dollars per year to play in the OJHL governed by the CJHL? That’s some serious money to just be shitting on!

Now 7 players who were traded at the deadline, because the OJHL teams say they didn’t know the deadline was at 6:00 PM, are ineligible to play beyond the OJHL playoffs.

Now the Wellington Dukes, because of these “rule violations” have had the ability to host the Dudley Hewitt Cup stripped from them for 2020.

The OJHL now can not host the Dudley Hewitt Cup or the RBC Cup for the National Championship for the next FIVE YEARS.

And the OJHL has been fined $50,000.00 for the screw up. That’s right, Fifty Thousand Bucks of the money that basically came from the players who are being punished for this bullshit. So, not only did the league screw up, but the CJHL wants to compound the problem by penalizing the players who pay the money for something they were not in control of.

That folks is complete and absolute bullshit. That is just another shining example of why Hockey Canada, needs to eliminate all the bullshit governing bodies and layers upon layers of bureaucratic bullshit that is holding Tier II hockey in Canada back from its real potential.

Tier II in Canada is a shadow of its once powerful development self. Gone are the days of dominating the development landscape. And they will not come back until some people pull their heads out of their asses.

So good luck with that all you Canadian players. Good luck with that all you who think that going to Canada is no problem. Customers who pay, should have some rights. Their rights should come before all others.

The CJHL just told everyone that the customer isn’t worth a damn and they don’t care. Time for some people to get their hands out of the cookie jar!

Come back tomorrow we got more Canadian Shit Show News you’re just gonna love….
