Stupid is, as stupid does. Right boys and girls? Follow a few drunk idiots around and you are bound to find more drunk idiots. Hey, have you ever gone to a party and not drank just to watch everyone else get hammered? Try it some time and you will probably find your friends look pretty stupid, and so do you when you follow the rest of the sheep.
But hey, who cares right, you’re just living the dream.
Well the University of Ottawa Hockey Team cares now. Head Coach Real Paiement who just lost his job there sure cares now too.
See back in February, the boys got caught up in just a little too much drinking and allegations of sexual misconduct. This got the team suspended, and now the suspension will carry through the 2014-2015 season.
University president Allan Rock says the coach was not involved in the misconduct, but should have notified authorities about the allegations. But the allegations are serious enough to get the dude fired.
The university commissioned its own one-man inquiry into the incidents, but will not release the findings of that probe because police are conducting their own investigation. Nahhhhhh nothing serious happens when you mix booze, the boys and some girls on the road right boys? Hmmmmmm I wonder where I heard a similar story, ummmmmmmm yeah just last week in the USHL.
“Independent investigator Steven Gaon conducted interviews related to the events in Thunder Bay, including allegations of excessive drinking and sexual misconduct,” the university said in a statement.
The findings led to the decision to cancel the coming season.
“Gaon’s findings reveal that while the events in Thunder Bay represented an isolated incident, the behavior of some players was unacceptable, did not reflect the university’s values and failed to meet the university’s expectations of its student-athletes.”
Thunder Bay police and prosecutors are now reviewing the file and trying to decide on what charges may be brought. That decision is expected in the next couple of weeks.
So a team is lost. Whether everyone on the team was involved or not, some idiots have cost a bunch of other guys the ability to play hockey this year. Way to go boys.
You know, TJHN has done several stories on how there is a deviant sexual subculture in sports today, and in hockey specifically. Some people laugh it off, some people take it seriously.
We’ve all heard the stories though. The puck bunnies, the billet moms, the roadies. Yeah, I have laughed at a bunch of them in the past, not gonna lie. But really kids, just do a little research these days on how many hockey players are getting caught up in crap like this, and its crazy.
We all know that the boys are gonna do their own thing. I don’t care if your 21 or 51, if you played the game you’re going to have a little edge to you and it never goes away.
The question is, can you control yourself? You don’t have to get shit faced to have a good time, and you sure don’t need to do something illegal with a girl or woman. If their too messed up its rape boys, incapacitated is rape. If they are under age, its rape. If its both, its rape of a minor.
Pull your heads out of your asses and start thinking.
Some day you may have a daughter of your own, think it will be a good idea to have her be a hockey fan? Want to bring her around the rink when she is 16? Yeah, probably not because you know the deal.
Time for everyone to wake the hell up.
