Its another happy Monday kids. You smell what Death has cookin? Oh hell yeah, one trip to the great white northern province of Ontario on tap today.
Does everyone remember the United Nations Hockey League? Ummmm yeah I mean the CIHL, that split into the CIHL and the WUHL? Seriously can someone please get these guys to take a class in marketing and branding for crying out loud?! Who the hell is coming up with these ridiculous league names?
So yeah the CIHL started out with 8 teams this year. A few months ago half the league broke away to form the WUHL while half stayed with the CIHL.
So this cluster is so hard to follow even for an intelligent person that lets just get to the news of the day….
Say rest in peace to the WUHL’s Toronto Hockey Academy Junior A team. While nothing has been officially announced, they haven’t shown up to games lately and well yeah that’s just not what existing teams usually do.
Please also say so long to the Sudbury Royals of the CIHL. Yes, though we hardly knew you, well, no one else really noticed you anyway.
The fact that either of these teams demise is even making this report tells you just how slow these last few weeks have been for me. I mean really did anyone even give a damn about these teams anyway? Well, maybe the suckers that actually paid to play for them did, yep those same suckers who will now wonder what happened to their money.
Hey, if you don’t think this is hilarious, youre probably one of those people so desperate to say you played junior hockey that youre willing to whip out your checkbook too.
But hey, there is some good news out of all of this. Yep, these two leagues are planning mass expansion for next year. Whew, I was worried that they would go away for a second. God knows I am going to need more material this time next year!
