The Playoff Push: Jan. 20, 2024

By USPHL Staff

In The Playoff Push, we will take a look at the busiest game days’ most integral games in regards to teams clinching playoffs or clinching specific playoff berths, as we head down the stretch toward the end of the regular season in early March.

USPHL Premier
The Vernal Oilers and Casper Roughnecks both clinched playoff berths in the Northwest Division yesterday.

Seattle could clinch today. Their magic number is 3 vs. Bellingham. Seattle visits Rogue Valley and Bellingham visits Lake Tahoe. Seattle needs to win and Bellingham would have to take a loss either in regulation or in OT/shootout for Seattle to clinch tonight.

Florida Division
Atlanta will clinch a berth in the Florida Division if they secure three points from Palm Beach this weekend. Tampa is not far behind, but they are idle today and so are the Florida Jr. Blades.

Midwest East Division
Fort Wayne clinched a playoff berth in the Midwest East yesterday with a win over MJDP. They hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over Battle Creek.

Midwest West Division
The idle Minnesota Blue Ox and the idle Minnesota Moose can both back into a berth today if Isanti defeats the Dells Ducks in regulation. The Ox will be in today regardless, unless the Ducks beat Isanti in overtime.
