Saginaw Spirit 4 at Barrie Colts 5 OT

  • Kashawn Aitcheson capped off this back-and-forth battle in overtime for the Colts. This the NHL draft eligible talent’s fourth OT-winner of the season.
  • Anthony Romani and Owen Van Steensel both had a goal and an assist in the win.
  • Dimian Zhilkin scored two for the Spirit.
  • A special night in Barrie as the Colts retired Kyle Clifford’s jersey! The longtime NHLer and two-time Stanley Cup champion gets his well-earned spot in the rafters.

Brampton Steelheads 2 at North Bay Battalion 1 OT

  • Steelheads Captain Porter Martone secured victory for Brampton in overtime, after a nice feed from Lucas Karmiris.
  • Lirim Amidovski got the Battalion on the board in the second period to tie it up, but this proved to be their only goal of the night.
  • Jack Ivankovic had a stellar performance in net, turning away 38/39 shots in the win to earn first star honours.
  • Charlie Larocque also had a big game in net for the Battalion with 33 saves on 35 shots, earning second star honours.

Erie Otters 5 at Niagara IceDogs 4

  • Pano Fimis’ 25th of the season stood as the game-winner in this high-scoring thriller.
  • The IceDogs took an early 3-0 lead, but the Otters answered right back—scoring five unanswered themselves to take back control of the game. 
  • A late goal by Ivan Galiyanov closed the gap for the IceDogs, but it wasn’t quite enough to overcome the deficit.
  • Martin Misiak scored two for the Otters, while Alexis Daviault had three assists.
  • Niagara rookie goaltender Matthew Humphries made 29 saves on 34 shots, while also earning Save of the Night honours.

Windsor Spitfires 7 at Peterborough Petes 1

  • The game-winner came when Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas found the back of the net off a setup from LA Kings prospect Liam Greentree, and with that goal both of them hit the 100-point milestone! They’re the first Spitfires teammates to reach the century mark in a season since 1994-95!
  • Spits forward Ryan Abraham kept up his hot-streak, scoring his sixth goal in his past three games.
  • Genc Ula got the Petes on the board in the second frame.
  • Liam Greentree celebrated a 2G, 2A performance, while Ilya Protas has 1G, 2A.
