Thursday Highlights: Shurygin leads Spirit to victory in goalie duel

The Spirit came out victorious in a goalie duel.

  • Stepan Shurygin stopped 38 of 39 shots he faced, earning him the first star of the game and the night in the OHL.
  • Carson Harmer (4) was the overtime hero for Saginaw.
  • Jacob Cloutier (7) also found the back of the net for the Spirit.
  • Ben Hrebik was equally as impressive in the Barrie net, stopping 26 of 28 to help earn his team a point.

The Battalion doubled up on the Otters at home.

  • Nolan Laird (3) had a goal and an assist to be named the first star of the game.

  • Michael Dec (7) and Gabriel Frasca (9) were the goal scorers for Erie.
  • Noah Erliden kept the game close for the Otters, stopping 32 of 35 shots.
