The TJHN monthly top twenty rankings will be a new feature story. This will be the first time that the North American Hockey League will be ranked together with the Canadian Junior Hockey League, or Tier II teams from ten leagues in Canada.
We have assembled a voting staff of more than three dozen junior and NCAA scouts throughout the United States and Canada. None of them are affiliated with any of the teams they can vote for. All of these scouts are trained professionals with a minimum of five years experience. All scouts must have the ability to watch games in person and on line.
The rating process was not simply based on wins and losses, but on strength of schedule. This ranking will appear once per month as it is the only way to effectively measure over time which teams are getting stronger or weaker while accounting for injuries and other factors.
This will be an ongoing series during the season that will not be affiliated with any governing body, or sponsored by any league or corporate interest with any specific league. Our goal is to maintain a completely independent ranking system.
The first TJHN Top Twenty will appear tomorrow, Wednesday November 4th 2015 at 6:00 am.
