Transfer Portal Roulette – Portal Updates Daily – A Must Read

April 13 marks the official opening of the NCAA transfer portal—and with it, a reality that every player needs to understand clearly. Starting today at noon eastern TJHN will post the transfer portal lists for Division One and Division Three.

Lesson 1: Time is not on your side.
The idea that you have weeks to evaluate options is a myth. Once the portal opens, decisions move quickly. If you receive an offer, you should be prepared to accept or decline within 72 hours. Programs are managing dozens of moving pieces and will not wait while you hesitate.

Lesson 2: Offers are earned, not guaranteed.
If you were not among the top players on your team or within your league and still receive an offer, recognize what that represents. Opportunities at this level are limited, and being selected—at any level—is meaningful.

Lesson 3: Be honest about your market value.
If you believe you are above a certain level, the market will confirm it. Programs that truly need you will make that clear quickly. If they are not actively pursuing you, it is worth reassessing expectations with objectivity.

The transfer portal is not just about opportunity—it is about timing, realism, and decisiveness. Players in the portal will be sought after before free agents. Its time to understand where you fit in this market before you’re left out.

See you at noon,
