USHL Indiana Ice Expected Back In 2016 – USHL Expansion For 2017

It was less than a year ago, June 2nd 2014 to be exact, that Bob Fallen was announced as the new President and Commissioner of the USHL.  While some people in the business were concerned with the switch from long time Commissioner Skip Prince to Bob Fallen, we here at TJHN thought it was timely and in the right direction.

Rumors have been swirling about the Indiana Ice since the day after they were forced into dormancy after winning the Clark Cup championship.  Will they return or wont they?

Commissioner Fallen confirmed what many have speculated, that the Indiana Ice will likely return for the 2016-2017 season.

Fallen also went further and began talking about additional expansion for 2017-2018 saying that two more teams could potentially be added.

While some may not have picked up on one other comment, the Commissioner all but ended any speculation concerning expansion to the Eastern United States.  Stating the USHL expansion footprint would not be outside of the current footprint.

Specifically addressing the Eastern United states, Fallen stated that Youngstown is the furthest eastern team within the league, and travel beyond that is not likely to happen.
