USPHL Commitments: Charlotte’s Depencier Commits To Manhattanville

Just as one significant four-year chapter of Beau Depencier’s hockey career is nearing its end, another is set to begin this fall. The 2004-born native of Dresden, Ont., has made his NCAA commitment to Manhattanville University for 2025-26.

Depencier first appeared in the Premier in the 2021-22 season and is closing his junior career this year in his second season with the Charlotte Rush. If he adds one more point to the 41 he has already scored, he’ll have a career best. He’s already tied his prior best of 41 points set in 2022-23. With such consistent high production, it’s no surprise the Manhattanville coaches were interested.

“I first started talking to Manhattanville at my first showcase of the season in New Jersey. They mentioned they loved my offensive play and playmaking ability,” said Depencier, who has 141 points in 149 career Premier regular season games, including with the Atlanta MadHatters. “I went and spent a day and night on campus, and I loved the area, the environment, the coaches and loved the guys on the team. I liked the development the hockey club offers. In terms of education, I like the connections for placements they have as a well-respected university and career placement success after university.”

Depencier joined the Rush in 2023 after starting the season in the Canadian Tier II Central Canada Hockey League, bringing valuable experience at that level to his Charlotte teammates. He’s enjoyed the past two seasons with the Rush and is happy to contribute to their long track record of advancing players to the NCAA.

“I love how the Charlotte Rush have prepared me for the next level and the culture they have created here. They are a known championship organization who have a high success in placing guys in the NCAA,” said Depencier. “I have grown as a person and hockey player even more so in my last two seasons here.”

There’s only a few more weeks left in the Premier regular season and the whole enchilada will be done by March 24, but you can bet Depencier will waste no time in working on his game to be as ready as possible for the Valiants.

“I have already started to think about college hockey prep. I can’t wait to be even more dialed in physically and mentally,” said Depencier. “I plan on working out with a trainer all spring and summer. I frame houses for my Dad’s company so that also helps with my strength and cardio. I’ll continue to work on my speed on the ice.”

The USPHL congratulates Beau Depencier, his family, the Charlotte Rush and Manhattanville University for his commitment.
