The Jets improved to five points in the standings with their first regulation win of the USPHL Premier Nationals, defeating the Jets by a 2-0 score on Friday evening. Rostislav Efremov stopped all 25 shots he faced in the game, Jaxon Stone scored the GWG and Evan Cote also scored.
Tampa Bay Juniors 5, Minnesota Squatch 2
The Tampa Bay Juniors earned their first win at Nationals by defeating the Minnesota Squatch, 5-2, on Friday afternoon. Eppu Tervamaki and Onni Puikkonen each had a goal and two assists. Savva Serdiuk made 28 saves on 30 shots.
Fresno Monsters 4, Springfield Pics 2
The Monsters came back from a Friday loss to win 4-2 against the Springfield Pics. Nils Tunbratt scored a goal and an assist, Owen Cross scored the GWG, and Simon Eriksson had two assists. Brooks Barofsky made 47 saves on 49 shots. We caught up with Cross post-game to talk about the Monsters’ Nationals so far.
Potomac Patriots 5, Universel Sherbrooke 1
#USPHLNationals: The Potomac Patriots’ Nikolay Kharinov scored three goals and added two assists for five points in a 5-1 win for the Patriots against Universel Sherbrooke on Friday night. Bowen Lopez scored a goal and two assists, Hayden Ritter registered two assists and Yaroslav Alifanov put up two assists. Kirill Guryev had 19 saves on 20 shots, and for Universel, Carlo Giordani made 56 saves on 61 shots.
Vernal Oilers 4, Fort Wayne Spacemen 0
The Vernal Oilers improved to 2-0 for the Round Robin, leading Division 1. They defeated the Fort Wayne Spacemen by a 4-0 score, with Levente Hegedus making 23 saves on 23 shots for the shutout. Jakub Bulik had two assists for the Oilers as well.
