USPHL Premier 2023-24 North Region Players Of The Week

Week of Feb. 11, 2024

Games of Feb. 1-7, 2024

New England Division

Forward: Jesper Seeberg, Islanders Hockey Club

Sixth-year USPHL veteran Seeberg (‘03/Lake Worth, Fla.) is also in his fourth season with the IHC Premier team, and he continues to be a huge leader for that squad. That was seen in the five games played in the first seven games of February, as he posted a 3-8-11 line. He has 97 points in 99 career Premier games, and he’s also played in 51 NCDC games, registering 17 points at that level.

Defense: Joey Demiglio, Utica Jr. Comets

SUNY-Fredonia recruit Demiglio (‘03/Niles, Ill.) posted a pair of goals and two assists for four points in two games against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The second-year Jr. Comet now has 35 points in 33 games, and 47 points in 60 games.

Goaltender: Cameron Prodin, Northern Cyclones

Prodin (‘04/Dearborn, Mich.) had a good start to February, where he stopped 31 of 32 shots put on him by the rival IHC on Feb. 1. This year, he is 11-3-1-1 with a .921 save percentage on the season.

Atlantic Division

Forward: Joona Juntunen, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Juntunen (‘03/Hyvinkaa, Finland) – a recent 100-point scorer for this season – had four goals and nine assists for 13 points in three games between Feb. 3 and Feb. 7, including two wins against USPHL Nationals staple the Islanders Hockey Club. He registered five points in those two games, proving Connecticut can rack up the offense against a wide range of opponents. He has passed the 2.00 points per game mark for his career with 147 points in 71 games.

Defense: Hunter Scanlon, Connecticut Jr. Rangers

Scanlon (‘03/Rockford, Ill.) sent home five goals and added on nine assists for 14 points in three games. It was against the Islanders Hockey Club on Feb. 4 that he became the USPHL Premier’s all-time leading scorer on defensemen. Shortly thereafter, he also became the first defenseman to pass 200 career points in a career that began in 2021-22, now at 202. He also owns the single season defenseman points record of 98 points – and counting.

Goaltender: Jeffrey Reda, Elmira Impact

Reda (‘03/Larchmont, N.Y.) made 28 saves on 28 shots to help the Impact shut out the New England Division’s Springfield Pics on February 4. That was part of what is now a three-game winning streak for Reda, who improved his two-year Elmira career record to 7-4-1-3.
