New England Division
Forward: Justin Tremblay, Northern Cyclones
Tremblay (‘03/Becancour, Que.) was extremely generous in three games, including a split against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and a win against Springfield. He dished out 10 assists and added a goal for 11 points in those three games, and his four hits co-led the Cyclones over the three games. The returning Cyclone and defending National Champion has 63 points in 42 games.
Defense: Brady Bomal, Northern Cyclones
Bomal (‘03/Westford, Mass.) had another incredibly active run of games for the Cyclones as they continue in their title defense campaign. He put up two goals and added three assists for five points, while putting up a +3 to lead the squad in those three contests against WBS and the Pics. He now has 33 points in 42 games, after having put up 34 points in 43 Elite games last season. He is a great example of #USPHLAdvancement In Action!
Goaltender: Ben Zaranek, Springfield Pics
Zaranek (‘03/Deerfield, Mass.) won his Feb. 17 game against the Boston Junior Bruins by stopping 35 of 36. On Feb. 18, he came in on relief against the Northern Cyclones and stopped 32 of 35 in an eventual 6-1 Cyclones victory. In his third season, he is 9-8-1-0 with a .920 save percentage, and he is in the top 15 all-time with 34 wins (34-17-2-2, with a .930 save percentage).
Atlantic Division
Forward: Dominic Mastromonica, P.A.L. Junior Islanders
Mastromonica (‘04/Kings Park, N.Y.) has split this season between the NCDC and Premier Jr. Islanders, most recently putting up two goals and six assists for eight points in just three games – all wins against Elmira and Brooklyn. He also averaged better than a +3 per game. For the season, he has nine points in six Premier games and four points in 21 games.
Defense: Hunter Scanlon, Connecticut Jr. Rangers
Scanlon (‘03/Rockford, Ill.) will leave the regular season as the USPHL Premier’s all-time leading scorer among defensemen with 208 points in 122 games – the only blueliner in the league to cap the 200 mark. He added to that total over the past week by putting up two goals and four assists for six points. Over his last seven games, he’s scored 8-17-25.
Goaltender: Elliot Wrigley, Brooklyn Aviators
The Aviators’ four-year Premier veteran goaltender put in a fantastic showing when the Aviators went up against the Rockets Hockey Club. He stopped 41 of 43 shots in that close 2-1 defeat. Earlier, on Feb. 16, he stopped all 11 shots he faced in relief against the P.A.L. Jr. Islanders.
