New England Division
Forward: Billy Dougherty, Northern Cyclones
The defending National Champion Cyclones were able to sweep the WBS Knights, another regular contender in the National Championships the last couple years, thanks in part to the help of returning forward Dougherty (‘03/Levittown, Pa.) The sixth-year USPHL and Cyclones veteran put up two goals and added six assists for eight points in the two games. This included a Premier career high line of 1-4-5 on Nov. 4. He currently has 70 points in 54 games.
Defense: Graham Dalton, Boston Junior Bruins
Dalton (‘04/Andover, Mass.) helped the Junior Bruins to a win against South Shore and was able to do his part to try and slow down a Connecticut juggernaut. Overall for the Junior Bruins’ first three games of the season, he held an even rating, and added a goal and two assists for three points. He also led the team with 12 shots on goal over the three games.
Goaltender: Maximilian Pierce, Northern Cyclones
Pierce (‘04/Harrison Township, Mich.) posted 24 saves to help the Cyclones to one of their two wins against the WBS Knights last weekend, improving his record at the time to 3-2-0-0.
Atlantic Division
Forward: Joona Juntunen, Connecticut Jr. Rangers
Juntunen (‘03/Hyvinkaa, Finland) entered the series against the Boston Junior Bruins last weekend with seven points, and more than doubled his season total with eight points in the two games against the Junior Bruins. He also registered another six points in a runaway victory against the Brooklyn Aviators on Nov. 7.
Defense: Hunter Scanlon, Connecticut Jr. Rangers
Scanlon (‘03/Rockford, Ill.) put up a goal and five assists for six points against the Junior Bruins in the weekend series, before adding even more in the big offensive showing against the Aviators. For the three games, he was a +15 while skating an average of 22:56 in ice time per game. With 141 points in 99 games, Scanlon is the second-highest scoring defenseman in Premier history.
Goaltender: Theo Clement, Jersey Hitmen
Clement’s first win of the season came after stopping all 34 shots he faced from the Brooklyn Aviators to claim a decisive victory in that Nov. 3 game. Clement is an ‘05 out of Quebec who played last season with The Winchendon School.
