Forward: Seth Morris, Seattle Totems
Morris (‘06/Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.) was all over Totems opponents during February, ringing up 10 goals and adding 14 assists for 24 points, good for a division-leading 2.4 points per game average. His February success ended up being just a portion of a 13-game point streak that included 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points that started on Jan. 19 and which he carried into the postseason, scoring three points in two games in March. He was also +18 to rank second on the Totems in February, and he was the faceoff ace for Seattle, winning 128 of 203 for a 63 percent success rate. He finished his rookie junior season with 64 points in 41 games.
Forward: Trevor Loucks, Seattle Totems
Loucks (‘03/Marysville, Wash.) put up nine goals and 11 assists for 20 points in 10 games, an average of 2.0 points per game. While playing originally for the Ontario Jr. Reign 18U AAA program, he made his Premier debut in 2021-22. After spending last season with the New York Aviators, with whom he made Nationals in 2023, he joined his hometown Totems this year. It’s been a hugely successful match, as he put up 63 points in 43 games.
Forward: Roberto Matias, Rogue Valley Royals
Matias (‘03/Iqaluit, Nunavut) completed his junior career in the playoffs against the Vernal Oilers, but prior to that series he put up an outstanding February. He scored three goals and added four assists for seven points in his second season as Royals Captain. He improved upon his 2022-23 season totals, from 30 to 45 this year. His 24:01 was second among Royals forwards in average ice time as well in February. He also scored a goal in the Royals’ playoff series.
Defense: Keanu McClanahan, Vernal Oilers
Third-year Premier defenseman McClanahan (‘05/Greensboro, N.C.) racked up two goals and added seven assists for nine points in eight games. He originally joined the former Rum River Mallards (now Isanti Outlaws) in 2021-22 as a 16-year-old, and since then he’s produced 82 points in 95 career regular season games. He’s hoping to help the Oilers to their second straight Nationals berth, which would give him his first trip to the big dance.
Defense: Filip Lezzani, Vernal Oilers
Lezzani (‘04/Puchov, Slovakia) registered 48 points in 43 games this year, his second with the Oilers. His February output saw six goals and 10 assists for 16 points in 11 contests, while leading the Oilers in average ice time at 22:48 per game. He was also second in plus-minus (+10). He improved upon his 2022-23 totals, moving from 34 to 48 points.
Goaltender: Camden Widgington, Seattle Totems
Widgington (‘04/Montreal, Que.) was nearly perfect during February in the run-up to the 2-0 sweep Seattle enjoyed in their first-round match-up against the Casper Roughnecks. The final month of the regular season saw Widgington go 5-0 with two shutouts, while making 108 saves on 114 shots, good for a .947 save percentage. His shutouts were both against the Bellingham Blazers. He finished the season on a 7-0 winning streak that went to nine with the sweep of Casper.
