Games Played Jan. 10-17, 2024

Summaries by Joshua Boyd / USPHLPremier.com

Northwest Division

Forward: Chase Parry, Vernal Oilers

Parry’s time with the Oilers predates their 2022 entry into the USPHL, and he’s still cranking along for the team. The ‘03 from Pittsburgh recently registered a 2-4-6 line during their trip to Washington state, including a 1-2-3 line in their second victory against Seattle. With 28 points in 27 games this season, Parry now has 65 points for his 72 career Premier games.

Defense: Michael Karvelas, Seattle Totems

Karvelas (‘04/Pasadena, Calif.) registered a pair of assists on two of the Totems’ five goals for the weekend during their matchups against the Vernal Oilers. He was on the ice for only two goals against as well, while playing 29:07 per night. He has points in 12 of his last 14 games dating back to mid-November and holds a total of 25 points in 31 games overall.

Goaltender: Levente Hegedus, Vernal Oilers

Hegedus (‘04/Székesfehérvár, Hungary) stopped a total of 88 out of 93 Seattle shots in his two games for his eighth and ninth straight victories this season for Vernal. He has not suffered a Premier loss since Oct. 27, and that was the only one in regulation thus far. Hegedus now has a 10-1-0-1 record with a 2.32 GAA and a .940 save percentage.

Pacific Division

Forward: Noak Persson, Fresno Monsters

Persson (‘03/Solleftea, Sweden) used some of his recent slate of nine goals and four assists for 13 points in three games to break into the all-time USPHL Premier Top 10 for scoring, with his 187th point overall. He also has 94 points on this season – in January – already bypassing the 93 points he posted last season. He remains the all-time leader in points per game with 3.53, with a half-point lead above every other USPHL Premier player ever.

Defense: Emile Rodrigue, Bakersfield Roughnecks

Rodrigue (‘04/Saguenay, Que.) is on a roll, picking up another 10 points off four goals and six assists against Long Beach to give himself 16 points for six games. He led the team for another weekend, with 23:07 per game, and he was a plus-16. He now has 66 points in 76 career Premier games.

Goaltender: Devin Degenstein, Fresno Monsters

Degenstein (‘05/Wetaskiwin, Alb.) turned away 42 out of a total of 47 shots in the Monsters’ Jan. 13 victory against the San Diego Sabers. He is now 11-2-0-0 on the season.
