Northwest Division
Forward: Seth Morris, Seattle Totems
Morris (‘06/Ranco Cucamonga, Calif.) was big on the power play as the Totems swept the in-state rival Bellingham Blazers last weekend, scoring three of his four goals with the extra man. He also added two assists for six points in two games. He currently has 34 points in 47 games to rank third on the Totems in scoring.
Defense: Logan Baum, Vernal Oilers
Baum (‘05/Orange, Calif.) was a big help as the Oilers were able to take a 2-1 record against the Pacific’s Bakersfield Roughnecks. Baum posted a goal and two assists in a 6-2 series-opening victory. He also blocked six shots during the series. The former Anaheim Ice Dogs AAA and Lutheran High School player has 20 points in 37 games this season for the Oilers as a rookie junior player.
Goaltender: Camden Widgington, Seattle Totems
Widgington (‘04/Montreal, Que.) has been a great pickup for the Totems since joining the team in December just prior to the USPHL Las Vegas Showcase. He picked up his fourth victory in seven appearances when he stopped all 20 shots from the Bellingham Blazers for his second shutout as a Totem on Feb. 3. He is 10-4-1-0 with a .929 save percentage this year between his time with Utica and Seattle.
Pacific Division
Forward: Noak Persson, Fresno Monsters
Persson is well-entrenched in the Premier record books now, as he sits one point back of the all-time career scoring record with 225 points (226 is the record set by former Ogden Mustang Jake Meure, now at Buffalo State). He put up nine points (5-4-9) in three games last weekend against Ontario. He is already the owner of the single season records in goals (78) and points (132), and the career leader in Premier goals (119) – and all of this accomplished in 60 games.
Defense: Carver Alford, Lake Tahoe Lakers
Alford (‘05/Lake Tahoe, Calif.) put up a goal and four assists for five points in four games last week, as the Lakers put up a win against Long Beach and then went 2-1 against San Diego last weekend. Alford led the team in ice time per game at 21:40, and he also led with five hits. Alford has played this year with Tahoe Prep Academy, while also splitting this year between Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, after being acquired from the T-Birds in November.
Goaltender: Rasmus Ronnqvist, Lake Tahoe Lakers
Since joining from his home country for his first North American season, Ronnqvist (‘03/Stockholm, Sweden) has put up a pair of big wins for Lake Tahoe. Recently, he stopped 46 of 47 shots by San Diego for a .979 save percentage in that Feb. 4 game. In his two starts, he’s put up 87 saves on 90 shots for a .967 save percentage and a 1.49 GAA.
