USPHL Premier 2023-24 West Region Players Of The Week

Games of Nov. 1-7

Pacific Division

Forward: Emil Loov, Fresno Monsters

Loov (‘03/Skelleftea, Sweden) registered 11 points over the three-day trip against Bakersfield, with a line of 2-9-11 – and that actually lifted Loov above the 100-point mark for his two years with the Monsters. He has scored in every game this season since Oct. 7, only missing the scoresheet in the first two games.

Defense: Baden Powell, Ontario Jr. Reign

Powell (‘04/Calgary, Alberta) came out with four assists from the Reign’s two wins against San Diego, and it’s part of a five-game scoring streak of 2-6-8 for the second-year Premier player. He’s helped the Jr. Reign put up seven straight wins to stand in first place in the Pacific points race.

Goaltender: Nicholas Perry, San Diego Sabers

Perry (‘05/Chino Hills, Calif.) did everything he could for his team in their 3-2 loss to Ontario on Nov. 3, making 56 saves on 59 shots. That second win of the season pushed him to a .922 save percentage.

Northwest Division

Forward: Luke Anthony, Seattle Totems

Anthony (‘04/Anaheim, Calif.) played in just one game last week, but was huge for the Totems against the Rogue Valley Royals. He put up two goals – including the GWG – and added an assist in the 4-1 victory. He has five of his 12 total points in the last couple games.

Defense: Marcus Glenn, Casper Roughnecks

Glenn (‘03/Santiquint, Utah) helped the Roughnecks claim a split against the Vernal Oilers by putting up a goal and an assist over the two games as well as a +3 rating. He also led the Roughnecks in ice time over the course of the weekend.

Goaltender: Kai Rivas, Bellingham Blazers

Rivas (‘05/Surrey, B.C.) made 30 saves on 31 shots in the team’s 2-1 victory on Nov. 3, part of a split weekend with the Rogue Valley Royals. That was Rivas’ first win and he also has an impressive .926 save percentage.
