USPHL Premier 2023-24 West Region Players Of The Week

Week of Nov. 30, 2023

Games of Nov. 21-28, 2023

Note: Due to a limited number of games played over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, we have combined the Pacific and Northwest Divisions for this week.

Forward: Noak Persson, Fresno Monsters

Persson (‘03/Solleftea, Sweden) registered his fifth and sixth consecutive multi-goal game when the Monsters faced the Ontario Jr. Reign. Persson posted a 2-1-3 line in each of the Nov. 24 and 25 games, including scoring his third opening goal of a game this season. He is second in league scoring with 63 points in 17 games, but first in points per game at 3.71 points per game.

Defense: Steven Blengino, Fresno Monsters

Blengino (‘03/Pribram, Czechia) posted five assists to help the Monsters to two wins in their three-game series with Ontario. He was on the ice an amazing 32:44 per game during the holiday weekend series, over which he also blocked eight shots and registered four hits. Blengino has 39 points in 17 games and his 2.17 points per game lead all Premier defensemen.

Goaltender: Rahul Sharma, Bellingham Blazers

Sharma played his sixth game for the Blazers and has never once seen his season or individual game save percentage dip below .900. The ‘03 from Delta, B.C. – a fourth-year junior veteran after three years in the PIJHL – stopped 51 of 54 shots in a close 3-2 loss to the rival Seattle Totems, in which Bellingham was outshot 54-14.
