USPHL Premier 2023-24 West Region Players Of The Week

Pacific Division 

Forward: Brayden Wilson, Fresno Monsters

Wilson (‘04/St. Louis, Mo.) registered two goals and added seven assists in two games as the Monsters swept their series against the Long Beach Shredders. Wilson is a second-year Monster with nine goals and 18 assists for 27 points this year and 59 points in 61 career games. 

Defense: Steven Blengino, Fresno Monsters

Blengino (‘03/Pribram, Czechia) was right up there with Wilson and Noak Persson with a nine-point weekend (2-7-9). Blengino was on the ice a ton at 36:37 per game and he was also a +12 for two games. Blengino scored 48 points in 23 games. 

Goaltender: Josh Henson, Ontario Jr. Reign

Henson (‘04/Port Moody, B.C.) is another second-year Premier veteran who was key for his team’s recent victories – two against Bakersfield. He stopped all 23 he faced for a shutout when the Reign beat the Roughnecks, 2-0. Henson is 10-2-0-0, with a 1.95 GAA and .929. He has 21 wins out of 29 career games. 

Northwest Division 

Forward: Presley Toth, Vernal Oilers 

Toth (‘04/Saskatoon, Sask.) helped the Oilers to a big sweep of the Casper Roughnecks, including three goals and two assists for five points. Toth had the GWG when he put up a 2-2-4 line on Dec. 1. He has registered points in 15 of 17 games, and stands with 28 points. For his career, he has 75 points in 56 games. 

Defense: Michael Karvelas, Seattle Totems

Karvelas (‘04/Pasadena, Calif.) put up five assists in three games, over which he averaged a team-leading 28:37 per game. He also led the team with 22 shots on goal. 

Goaltender: Levente Hegedus, Vernal Oilers 

Hegedus (‘04/Székesfehérvár, Hungary) stepped into the net for both the Oilers’ wins against the Casper Roughnecks. He stopped 79 of 84 shots for a .940 save percentage. Hegedus, who is 6-1-0-1, is on a five-game winning streak. He was recently called to represent his home country in the World Junior Championships.
