Forward: Jason Gongol, Chicago Crush
Gongol was a huge pickup for the Crush this year, joining the team in mid-October and racking up nearly two points per game on average from there (1.78 points per game to be exact). He scored 28 goals and 36 assists for 64 points, and also registered seven points in four playoff games for the Crush. Gongol enjoyed five games of four points or more, including a 5-2-7 line on Jan. 18 against the Motor City Gamblers.
Forward: Alexis Toussaint, Fort Wayne Spacemen
Toussaint was a force for a second straight season with the Spacemen, registering 31 goals and 43 assists for 74 points in just 39 games, averaging 1.9 points per game. For his two-year career, his average was 1.93, as he finished with 158 points in 82 games, ranking third all-time for the Spacemen in regular season scoring. He is fourth in playoff scoring with 17 points in 14 games as the Spacemen made their second and third straight trips to the USPHL Nationals with Toussaint leading the way. Toussaint also put up a 2-2-4 line for the Midwest/Great Lakes/North All-Star team in January at the USPHL Premier All-Star Event.
Forward: Alexander Musyakevych, Chicago Cougars
Musyakevych was an undeniable leader for the Cougars this year, with his 52 points in 44 games placing him in the top 10 for Cougars single season points since the inaugural season of the current USPHL Premier in 2017-18. Along with his 2023-24 output, Musyakevych finished with 29 goals and 68 points in an 86-game career, seeing a 36-point improvement year over year. Musyakevych was also named to the Midwest/Great Lakes/North All-Star event, where he scored a goal in the two games.
Defense: Jesper Frunck, Decatur Blaze
Frunck was a great example of USPHL Advancement In Action on an in-season scale, as he started out with the Blaze’s USPHL Elite team as a newcomer to North American hockey. After putting up five points in five games at that level, Frunck went to the Premier and stayed the rest of the season, scoring nine goals and 21 assists for 30 points in 43 games.
Defense: Maksym Maiuk, Fort Wayne Spacemen
Another player new to the USPHL Premier this season, Maiuk was an outstanding two-way defenseman for the division champion Spacemen. In 35 games, he put up five goals and 11 assists for 16 points, while on the defensive end, he helped the Spacemen give up just 2.11 goals per game on the season. That was one of the top 10 team goals against averages in the league.
Goaltender: Christopher Gingras, Fort Wayne Spacemen
Gingras (‘04/Montreal, Que.) left the EHL early in the season to join the Spacemen and helped them to capture a third straight Nationals berth as Midwest Champions. Gingras stopped 412 of 452 shots during the season, giving him a .912 save percentage and a 2.35 goals against average. In the playoffs and Nationals, he was even more impressive with a 6-1-0-0 record and a .923 save percentage.
Selection Process: Coaches in the division first nominate players, and then vote on these nominations. If there are ties in positions, there is an additional run-off vote. Coaches are presented with the finalists and given more than 24 hours to make changes if the majority votes to do so. If there are no challenges to the finalists, they are named as the All-Division Team.
